Default Most dangerous spot in The Villages

I am convinced that the most dangerous spot in TV is every neighborhood pool when everyone comes to pick up their mail. There was an accident at Pennecamp pool yesterday. Thank goodness no one was hurt. There are just so many golf carts and cars pulling in and out all at once.

The OP is spot on. The design of the entrance/exit is faulty at all of the postal stations

I agree! The Amelia one is just as bad some days! Folks seem to be in a hurry and are just zipping in with their cars (and carts too). I'm thinking people just aren't looking out for others neither! LIFE is too short to want to rush through it.

Default Please don't turn right in front of a golf cart or bicycle

Don't pass someone who is driving in the cart lane and then make a sharp right turn in front of them into the pool/mail parking lot. A driver turning into Caroline pool last week cut off and seriously injured two cyclists who were lawfully going straight on Stillwater.

The driver said she saw the bike but didn't realize how fast they were going. She was given a ticket for improper lane change that caused the accident.

Snowbirds are coming back and traffic is getting heavier. PLEASE everyone be careful and when in doubt, yield to the other vehicle/person.

My grandfather told me, "Billy, the 'right of way' is not something you 'have,' it's something someone gives you. If they don't give it to you, You Don't Have It."

That was in 1955 when I first started (legally) driving. He was right then (when we had much less traffic) and still is today....

A wise quote to add to my list of sage advice.

I think it would help the flow of traffic at the mailboxes/pool area by having one-way traffic thru it, with one "entrance only" at the driveway to the right of the building and one "exit only" on the left side of the building. Don't know what it would take to get that done....

That way, backing out of the parking spaces would be easier, with traffic coming only from the one side.
