Default Kindle lost

A few weeks ago, I lost my Kindle which was in a brown case near the medical complex off the backend of Paradise/Boone Drives. I think it slid out of my cart as I was leaving the dr's heading toward Aldi. Would appreciate a PM if found. A sticker with my name and address was attached. Thanks!

You have my condolences. I had a Nook I just loved. Put it on top of my car while getting my keys. Forgot about it and drove off. Came home and didn't have it. Got a phone call later. Someone had accidentally driven over it.

I had an order in for the iPad 2 which arrived a few days later. It works great as a reader, so didn't replace the Nook.

Anyway, I am sorry about your Kindle and hope you recover it.

From Amazon Customer Service (if you haven't done this already).

"If your Kindle is lost or stolen and you have a gift card/certificate balance and purchases are made, you will be out that money.
If you deregister the Kindle, it can not access the Whispernet (the Kindle's internet access), and it can not be used for purchases.
If you do not deregister it, the finder can deregister it directly from the Kindle, so you do not protect yourself by leaving it registered.

EDIT: Maggie Leung, a Kindle forum member, also pointed out that a thief could use a stolen Kindle to get into your e-mail accounts or other websites if your password is stored. This could let them get to confidential information. Deregistering will prevent this."

A great ending! Several weeks ago I left my Kindle at the booth of a vendor during vendor night after I purchased their product. I left there not realizing I no longer had my Kindle with me and went back to enjoying the music. About an hour later I received a call from the vendor ( jewelry ) telling me I left my Kindle and they were holding it for me.

Fortunately, I taped a social card on the inside cover with my contact information and that made it possible for this honest person to call me.

Default Lost kindle

My niece inadvertently left her husband's Kindle at the Winifred Pool this week. She just realized it this morning as she was preparing to leave for the airport. So if anyone knows anything about this please call 391-9000. Is there a central lost and found in TV? We went to Laurel Manor to report it lost. Any suggestions?
