Default We're ready to play!

I bought Steve a pickleball paddle and balls (got one for myself also!) for Christmas...he was quite surprised. I also found a place less than 5 miles from our house that gives pickleball lessons...we will be sooo ready when we get down there! How many of you play? It looked like fun and great exercise. I plan on learning how to golf too.

My wife and I both play pickleball and both love it. We're still learning and hopefully are improving each time we go out.
Lessons are offered free and they're worth it!...besides you'll meet some new friends there.
Everything is covered from safety, scoring, rules of the game and actual playing with tips to make it even more enjoyable.
Pat took golf lessons at Palmer and now enjoys the game. Again, it's another great way to meet new people.
In TV there's not enough hours in the day!

Trish,

I was just thinking about you this morning and wondering how you were doing and how the sale of the house is going.

Sending positive thoughts your way!

Lessons are given at various rec centers/ neighborhood courts. The class listings (day and times) are in the rec news. Beginner classes are listed as PB101, 102 and 103. Be sure to sign up 1 week in advance. The classes fill up QUICKLY during snowbird season so sign up 1 week ahead at 8:30 AM or you'll be shut out. ENJOY!

Default pickleball

Please don't forget to buy "court" shoes as they are different than the tennis shoes we normally wear. Almost all of the accidents on the courts that I have seen are due to improper shoes. Oh yes, once you start you will be hooked, it is my favorite activity in TV, I love it and play every morning.

Thanks All for the information.

I need the Golf lessons also. How was the Arnold Palmer Golf Academy week?

Ruth and I stopped in there on the way out from our lifestyle visit.

They said we take you from this is a Club! Of course Ruth said will it work on Herv?" to everything else.

Then we had to drive home to NY.

What are the specific type of shoes you need and where do you get them?

The shoes for pickleball are called Court shoes (they have a no marr sole), can be purchased at at sports goods store. DO NOT wear running or walking shoes. Also before showing up at the courts I recommend you take Pickleball 101, 102 and 103 see the rec news to time and place.
