Default Presidential Candidate Selector Quiz

I was sent the link for this neat website that has a quiz on which candidate most closely represents the views on issues you hold based on a series of 22 multiple-choice questions.

Of course any of these kinds of things are to be taken with a grain of salt, but it was fun to see the outcome.

SelectSmart indicated that Santorum was closest to me with an 82% compatibility. He was followed by Gingrich and then Romney who were in the high 70's. I was surprised that Perry was a few candidates down the list.

It's a fun diversion, if you've got a few minutes to kill.

Took the quiz. Rick Santorum was at the top for me with 88%. (I knew nothing about him until a day or two ago, and even today I know very little about him) At the very bottom of the list was none other than one Barack Hussain Obama (surprise, surprise, surprise) with Hilary one step above him. Those two alone would lead me to conclude that the quiz is incredibly accurate measure of political preferences.

Top 3 Santorum, 97%
Gingrich, 93%
Romney, 90%

bottom 3 Obama, 23%
Biden, 22%
Hillary, 14%

Fun quiz. Thanks for sharing.

Obama 83 %

Does this mean I am a conservative Democrat.

I will go to the grave knowing I am a conservative when it comes to Money.

How can I be so conservative about the budget and come up with Obama at 83% on this test??????????????????

HELP:::::::

ADDED: I agree with 80 % of the post by Conservatives and DISAGREE with 80 % of posts by Liberals. How can I come up with Obama at 83% Seriously. I don't get it unless the test is flawed.

I really don't like the way the questions are phrased.

For example, question 1 is just an up or down vote on the stimulus plan. No in between. The same holds true for question number 2. Question three lumps together the idea of a rant trying to get a nuclear weapon and them having one. There is a big difference.

Question 16 only gives you a choice between the league of conservation voters and the American land rights Association. It lumps together environment and property rights without any discussion of how the two played together.

Most of the questions appear to be like that.

I find it interesting that I replied neither to a large majority of the questions and, for that appearance of indecision I got Democrats at the top of my list

Well that's interesting. It might explain why your posts elicit more argument from Republican posters than Democrat posters.

I was starting to assume this quiz was geared to creating the impression that the test-taker actually was a "conservative" even if he had thought otherwise, but now I have to reevaluate that.

Well, all I know is I am confused again. I do not like all the Liberal hand outs; I do not want government in abortion decisions; Gay marriage is no business of any politician; I feel taxes are two high for the wealthy and too low for the lower income level (being Zero); I want a strong military and defense budget; I think the Patriot Act is too soft, not too hard; and it goes on like that for me, yet I came out in this poll as a democrat.

I guess I will go to a Democratic meeting and keep an eye on my pulse to see whats going on with me.

Well, mine was a complete surprise!

1. Barack Obama at 95%
2. Joe Biden at 91%
3. Hillary Clinton at 91%

Personally, I would have reversed my choices of #2 and #3.

Each question asked whether you were for it or against it, basically and then how much of a priority it was. I think the "priority" aspect had a lot to do with each candidate.

It only came our Obama on top for you because Fidel Castro wasn't on the list.

I was drinking an ice-cold Yeungling when I read your reply of "It only came our Obama on top for you because Fidel Castro wasn't on the list."
I laughed so hard the beer spurted out like the old Danny Thomas coffee spurts on television (dating myself there).

Hopefully, we can go over that on Monday night at the watering hole.

Heh. I know.. It's just that I was disappointed in the choices. It's not like I want terrorists to go free and I don't want people locked up forever without a warrant. I want DUE PROCESS - but that kind of answer frequently wasn't an option.

Even though you joke about it, it IS true. If the Democrats were had ANY skills at communicating a message, the Republicans (at least this year) wouldn't stand a chance. Even Bill Maher, whom I know you don't like, gives the GOP props for getting and STAYING on their message.
