Yes, we DO need an indoor exercise pool here in The Villages! Most places do, even my mom's community in Kissimmee...Good Samaritan Village.

I am sure there are people who would pay to join a club where there's an indoor therapy pool. Has anyone visited Celebration Hospital Fitness Center? They have 2 pools, one is large for exercise classes and one is smaller and is heated very warm for the people with arthritis, etc.

beautiful!

Default TV needs an indoor pool....definitely!!!

Here I go again....on my indoor pool soapbox. I am used to swimming at least 1/2 mile every day (sans weekends). I have been here for 2 weeks and I have only been able to swim 2 days.

There are those who say that the pools are heated so why would we need an indoor pool? I would love to personally take anyone who feels that way to the pool on a cool morning and see how they feel about swimming when the AIR is so cold. It is almost painful to swim when the air is cold.

I would be glad to pay an additional fee to have the option of an indoor pool. There is no doubt about it.....TV NEEDS AN INDOOR POOL.

TV is a perfect retirement community....with that one exception. Bring on an indoor pool!

Default It's an embarrassment

The lack of at least one indoor athletic lap pool is an embarrassment and a disgrace to TV.

There are hundreds of people who cannot be in the direct sun because of past or current skin cancer or current pre-cancerous skin lesions.

And before all the non-swimmer "experts" pipe up and say "do it in the early morning or late afternoon", that doesn't always work. There are classes and teams scheduled in the sports pools till 3:00 and it gets dark early and they close the pools at dusk, so in the winter the time frame is extremely short.

I'd like to see some of the "experts" get out of the pool WET when it is 60 degrees outside with a breeze.

I and many others would gladly pay for a membership fee for an indoor lap pool, run by a private enterprise if need be.

I try to be a positive person but I have to admit the lack of an indoor pool baffles me-there should be at least three when Brownwood is finished and we should not have to pay for them!!!

Default Cold conditions

I once overheard a woman speaking of buying a wetsuit. Is this what people really do to overcome the cold weather? Seems a bit extreme, but if it's necessary, I'd like to know. Thanks.

I agree that The Villages should have a few indoor pools. I do not think one would be enough for all the people who would probably be interested in it. However, they must have people who can figure out how many are needed. I am now wondering why there are no indoor pools at all.

It is much more expensive to maintain an indoor pool.

When the annual questionnaires come out, it would be great if we all let the owners know how much we would love to have indoor pools. The Morse family has spared no expense with everything they've done in TV. Maybe if they realize how we want and would appreciate indoor pools, they would listen.

Not too long ago when the wellness center closed, there was a request for who would support keeping the pool open. At that time there was a lack of interest in financially supporting an existing indoor pool. What would make that interest be any greater now? Just askin.
