Lagarde has no political axe to grind with anyone. She's a top notch economist and very experienced international financier. She paints a dire picture that would involve every single one of us in the worst possible way. And it's likely to happen soon--before the upcoming U.S. general election, as an example.

So what are our politicians talking about? The President doesn't seem to be saying much of anything, other than campaigning falderal. And the circular firing squad of Republican candidates--my goodness, one might wonder if they really understand the gravity of the world economic situation.

This was like watching a slow motion train wreck about to happen. The problem is, someone has speeded up the projector.
