Many many hip, knee etc. replacements here. I have not had such work but my neighbors say Dr. Duke in Ocala is the best.

Yes, lots of hips and knees have been done here. You can go to www.floridahealthfinder.gov to find doctors who do lots of them. Between 4/10 through 3/11 Dr. Locker of Ocala did 244, Dr. Duke 110 and Dr. Kerina, Leesburg, 107 hips. I'd go with a doctor who does them routinely, rather than one who does just a few.

Dr Kerina, Tri County Orthopedic, is no longer doing hip replacements...only knees. He did a total on my left knee last week and did a great job.

Tri County has brought in Dr Williams to be the hip man ... have heard good things so far but he's still fairly new around here.

Kerina and Duke are the best for knees!!!

By the way, Leesburg Hospital (and I think The Villages too) have made major changes in their joint replacement protocols. I was in Leesburg where they now have private rooms, a pre-op educational seminar, nurses dedicated to joint replacement recovery, a pain management methodology that involved no inpatient pain (a little more after I got home), twice a day group therapy to get you moving sooner and more often and a few other changes/improvements since I had my other one done there 3 years ago. The above applies to Leesburg Hospital for Knee and Hip replacements. It's called the Marshall-Steele program (or something like that).

Good luck in your search for a surgeon and hospital facility.
