Default Have my house reserved for October!!

VERY excited! Never been to TV. Hubby and I have been trying to get there for a couple of years, as we are pretty sure it is our kind of place. I sent a deposit for a rental (with a pool!) in Springdale this week, and I'm so excited I can hardly sleep at night. So glad I've found these message boards to hang out and learn all I can before coming.

I am an RN who works per diem at our local hospital in several areas.....nursing home, oncology infusion room, orthopedic clinic and filling in for the school nurses. And my background is many years of doing labor and delivery! You'd never know that by seeing where I work now. It's a whole new ball game, that's for sure. I work per diem so I can pay for my travel bug and have the time off when I want it (like spending a month at TV in Oct!). We are doing a Disney cruise next month and I'm going to a dude ranch in April. Hubby is an engineer and has 8 or 9 years to go before retirement. Thus, we are "testing the waters" at TV. We both love to golf, love to cruise and we have two pups who are our babies. One is a Shih Tzu/Poodle cross (Tess) and one is a Havanese (Baxter) They will both be turning a year pretty soon.

Looking forward to getting to know you all and figuring out how to post an avatar. I'm sure it's a picture sizing thing, so I'll have to do some research on that.

Disney cruise, dude ranch and a month in TV....sounds like you are in for a fun year!

I know you'll love TV. Let us know what you think of TV after you get here. There is no place else like it!!

It would be fun to hear about the Disney cruise too! That is on our bucket list LOL.

Betty, this will be our third Disney cruise simply because our son-in-law works for the cruise line and gets extremely low priced or "free" cruises! Next month we are cruising on the brand new Disney Fantasy before it even has its inaugural voyage. Travis gets a 7 nt free cruise (we pay only for taxes and gratuities, which amounted to $600 total for 4 of us) and can bring up to 4 friends/family. We know we are lucky.

We began cruising in 2004 for our 25th anniversary and got hooked. We've cruised once or twice a year, since. I actually prefer Royal Caribbean to Disney, as we no longer have young kids and there are a LOT of kids on Disney cruises. They don't have as many activities as Royal Caribbean, though their shows are like no other! In any event, I am not complaining and any day on a cruise is far better than a day at work!!!

Oh man. Baby Monroe doesn't like anybody. He looks sweet, but don't be fooled. I have the scars to prove it. He acts like a totally normal 3-legged cat, and then he will suddenly turn on me/you/them. Does this mean we can't be best friends? Boo hoo.

I'm still not sleeping. I need to come before October. I wish we had time to do a day trip when we are down next month. If one is not coming on a LSV (?), is it possible to get someone to give a mini tour?

Thanks Everyone!

Default Day Trip - Take the Trolley Tour

Alanna,

Hope your visit to TV in October is great. I will be back renting in TV in June, and I also hope to rent again in October like I did last year. Temps are nice in October in TV.

If you have time for a day trip to TV, go to the TV sales office and ask about going on a trolley tour. The trolley tour takes about 45 minutes, and while you won't get to see all of TV, you will get taste of what TV is all about. It is narrated by a TV resident, and you can ask that person questions about TV. If you do take a day trip, stop at one of the squares -- Spanish Springs or Lake Sumter Landng at night -- as there will be free entertainment from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm and people will be dancing at the squares -- it is a wonderful sight.

Hope your Disney cruise is great! And your doggie is a cutie.
