Default For you Trader Joe's foodies.... ;)

Well, they've finally made it to Florida....

We had them in CA, didn't shop there much, but for those of you who love the store, at least you can drive there now...a bit of a ride, but you can make a day of it!

Who knows, maybe more will follow!

There is one coming to Sarasota, too, although not sure when it's opening. I can't wait. I love Trader Joe's. Or as my husband calls it, Trapper Jacks.

Went to TJ today in my town and bought Organic vegies, cheeses. wine, spray cleaning solution, eggs, milk, sour cream, coffee, cookies, chocolate and organic jasmine rice. That's the type of stuff they have and it is the greatest!!!!

Default frozen crab cakes

from Trader Joe's were probably my favorite, haven't been able to duplicate them in TV (believe it or not, Aldi's comes closest)!

Can't imagine that TJ's will not extend their Florida network (kind of surprised, from a logistical standpoint, that they started in Naples). Sincerely hope they will open one near TV.

Much as I love Trader Joe's, I'm not driving 3 1/2 hours to the one in Naples. I visit my daughter in Brooklyn twice a year, will stock up there. Meanwhile, hope a TJ's opens closer to TV.

That's not so strange that you found crab cakes in Aldi's that are close to Trader Joes. The owners of Aldi's and Trader Joes are brothers, and although the companies are operated separately, are jointly owned. It's a little more complicated, and this NY Times story tells it better than I.

Default Trader Joe's

Gainesville paper today reports that Trader Joe's signed a lease to open a store on Archer Rd. just east of I-75.

The one in Lexington is busy all the time, can never find a place to park, always circling. But where else do you find frozen mandarin orange chicken, triple ginger snap cookies and ice cream, frozen chicken burgers, turkey meatballs, the best greek yogurt and hummus.Of course they do have the very popular three buck chuck wines.I tried several of the different whites and reds, hoping i would like just one of them,so far no luck.Would have loved them back in college, had to be better than Boone's Farm Strawberry and Apple wines.

I love TJ. They carry lots of goat cheese & yogurt products.
Since I can't have cow dairy and I am gluten free -
that is one of my favorite stores and Wegmans is the other.
I worry about finding the food I can eat at TV. So thanks for sharing
the good news.

I, too, use goat milk and yogurt. The milk can be bought @ Publics & Walmart, but no one here carries the goat milk yogurt......Fresh Market did when they first opened, but no more...........Can't wait for Trader Joe's..........ty

Publix told me that they can order it for me if I let them know I am coming. You might want to try that

The one planned for Gainesville will be in Butler Plaza, supposedly.

The one in Sarasota (on the "trail") opens in a month. The lines are forming now!

After that, I would guess near Dr. Phillips and Sand Lake Rd. (west of Universal Studios) in Orlando next year.

The Trader Joe's in Sarasota is supposed to open Sept. 7. Only a little more than 2 hours away. That'll work until the Gainesville store opens
