Default It is sad...

It is very sad that Trayvon Martin is dead.

What is more sad is the fact that this will now become fodder for the usual race baiters and anti-gun nuts to load their cannons with.

Everybody complains that they did not automatically arrest the shooter. The purpose of the law was to protect shooters who were defending themselves legally and legitimately.

I've been watching the news, even on Fox news, they refer to neighborhood watchmen as the "assailant." I have heard many stories already on the news of how the assailant followed Trayvon Martin and shot him.

The assailant claims that when he was returning to his car he was attacked by Trayvon Martin. The neighborhood watchmen did have injuries consistent with that story. I don't know what the truth is but let me ask you a question. If you were involved in a self-defense situation where someone attacked you and you shot them dead, you believe that you should be arrested and thrown in jail even though you have injuries consistent with your story.

It may be that the neighborhood watchmen of the racist and out to kill any ****** he could find. Time will tell. Would you want to rot in jail until they figured it out?

Just some thoughts I

It is sad. Justice must be served. However, what I am waiting for is the grand standing by Al Sharpton, Jessee Jackson, and Eric Holder...Watch the political hay they make of this incident. I am sad because Holder's/Sharpton'sJ/ackson's action will only continue to ensure there is a racial divide becaue they will make this racial.

I don't believe that I would ever be in this situation because if the police told me not to follow him I WOULD have listened rather than being empowered by a 9mm in my holster. His injuries are also consistent with someone who pulls a gun on someone and they fight to keep you from killing them.....so yes, I guess we will see.

Angry

Fortunately the whole episode was caught on the 911 tapes, so George Zimmerman doesn't have much of a defense whenever he is found and charged. The police chief temporarily stepped down today, and the investigating officers shouldn't be far behind. Evidently, Sanford seems to have a history of these types of problems.

The state of Florida will be the loser, as more people hear about this incident and decide to boycott the state.

Here we go again: Mass hysteria, making political hay and the beginning of the "Oxbow Incident.". Will people ever learn?

That is not the situation I offered you. You inserted your own situation and answered my question. That is not an honest tactic.

Nice try

what happened to innocent until proven guilty?

Speculation? That is all there is. Not one piece of evidence has been presented yet.

The racists are all in town that being the NAACP, Sharpton and any other black with a recognized name to get their 15 seconds of fame.

Al Sharpton...a legal trained what? Calling for arrest and conviction. What happened to the hearing on whether there is to be a trial?

Guilty by media hype and black racists with the peddle to the metal.

Trial by mass emotion. Disgusting!!

I will wait to see what evidence is provided....not some super blacks blowing hard!!. These are not racial comments....just facts.

Innocent until proven guilty is for the trial - after you're arrested.

The 911 tape has him practically hunting this kid down.

I think the case will hinge, based on what's come out to date, on how believable the girlfriend who was on the phone with him is. Will her testimony in court be like what's been released in the news - and will it stand up?

The only thing certain is that Sharpton and all the race baiting hustlers and politicians will make sure the conclusion is that it was "racially motivated".....whether it was or was not so.

You must have heard tapes that I didn't hear. Or, you are creating that which you assume happens when when a white man with a gun meets a black man.

DJ is just commenting on the latest news reports which are starting to slant against the "neighborhood watcher", but I have to admit I was starting to wonder about his actions.

Only now, that the Rev. Sharpton of the Tawana Brawley hoax fame. Rev. Sharpton who demonstrated at Freddie's Discount Mart in Harlem in which he denounced the Jewish owner as a "white interloper, and his inflaming of the demonstration lead to a killing he was never charged with. Rev. Sharpton of the Crown Heights riots fame in which he helped to inflame tensions in which jews were beaten in the streets, their stores looted and which culminated with the inevitable murder of Yankel Rosenbaum is more blood on the hands of the Rev. Sharpton.

I lived in NY and it's close vicinity during these times and remember all the racial invective spewed by this man in the name of "civil rights".

I hope this story doesn't end with more blood on the hands of this "Reverend"

Sharpton's mother died early Thursday morning. I guess going to the rally Thursday evening was more important than going to take care of arrangements. Also, the shooter was hispanic. This is very seldom mentioned.

Default I have not been following this matter closely...

.. but I did find this article very interesting.

Josh Sugarmann: Trayvon Martin's Life One of Hundreds Ended by Concealed Carry Killers

I have not figured out just who is yelling for "help" in the 911 tapes. Wonder if they could do a speech recognition test on that tape or have??

On another related point--using your common sense, Trayvon Martin's supporters sound like the more logical about what happened.

As to racism, my brother is in a mixed marriage (white-black) and sometimes encountered racism from both blacks and whites about their mixed marriage. They visited the Villages a few times and this even happened in the Villages but not so often as elsewhere.
