I ordered in the design meeting an electric but I hate those cook tops that scratch so easily. I would like to change to gas..I have a gas tank in the ground already because of the pool. Does anyone have a suggestion as to how to get rid of the electric stove and trade for a gas stove, and who would I get to do the work?

I thought we would hate the electric since I love to cook. But I have no issues so far. Haven't noticed one scratch on the cook top and in fact the top cleans real easily compared to our old gas stove. Why not move in for a year or so with the electric and then decide?

I know some electricians/handymen but not sure if they are certified to run gas lines.

Call Rita at Suburban propane in Wildwood. They have gas installers and will run a line and hook up your stove. All you have to do is get the stove and they will deal with the rest. Should be less than $200 depending on how much is involved with running the line. Have fun it is worth the change over to gas.

Thank you so much for the info. I have decided to drop all the appliances in the package since I am going to convert to propane. Any suggestions for where I should go for the stove, the refrigerator, the dishwasher, washer and dryer? Should be able ot get a nice discount for all and for sure it is less than the TV markup.

We like and used Lowes. We looked around and did not find anything that much better. Watch for one of their sales and they are as competitive as anywhere else. The bonus to me is the customer service. They delivered a washer, that did not work after a few days, they came back out with a new one and replaced it no questions asked. I suggest the extended warranties. We did not get them in the past, however have on all for our new appliances. We have used them on two occasions so far so they have paid for themselves. The stuff being made now is no where as good as the old days. Lowes also gave me a name of an individual that bought our 2 year old stove and hauled it off. It was not a great deal of money but none the less some. If you do not get it I may be able to dig it up. Good luck....

Gee, Gracie, if you promise to come clean mine, maybe I will keep it I had one about five years ago and ruined it in less than six months. Do you use special pans? I can't believe you use scouring pads. Wow. Maybe they have changed to the material from 5 years ago?

No special pans. Nothing special...but I think you want gas.
