Default comcast vacation suspension

i have read previous posts on these boards of the difficulty in dealing with comcast in order to convert one's service to seasonal...such as it can't be done, must be done by 4/1, etc.

well, today, after a search thru the comcast website forums, i found out that it can be done - and i did it! hooray!

the info re this service can be found @ Comcast Florida Markets

one of the faq's will direct you to call for the rates for the villages - which i did since i did not want to risk not getting a special rate if there was one - and there is!

we have digital preferred tv with no special equipment and we have internet service...the cost to go on vacation is a one time fee of $60 = $30 for each service [other fl areas are charged $10/mo - the villages gets a $10 break]...and service can be suspended for from 3 to 7 months...service will automatically revert to our current services level at the end of the 7 mths i chose.

from friends who occasionally return to their home here during their cable vacation suspension - they are able to receive stations 1 - 22 by disconnecting the cable box and doing a straight connection between the cable and the television.

hope this info helps other snowbirds and relieves some frustration especially!

Thanks for posting this - good info! Unfortunately it doesn't help us as snowflakes as we're in TV multiple times during the year, never more than a couple of months between trips. But it is a positive step for seasonal folks!!
