Default My TV visit #12

Ok so I've been here many times, can't retire till the business sells, so I visit family and friends until it happens.

So far I've eaten at Bonifay which was really good. Had a nice waitress and food was yummy, especially the crab bisque soup. Lots of chunks of crab.

Riding in my golf cart is always fun. I rent from Grandpa and Grandmas golf carts and all is well with my cart. I am told the speed limit is 20 mph so I do that or up to 22 mph. Yesterday while on Odell circle I was driving 22.7 mph and another cart passed me and shook his arm at me in disgust, (going to slow)? Then last night at 9:30 PM after a great night in the square, I was driving back along Morse, again at a speed of 22 or so and some guy and passenger drove up to my cart. I pulled over quickly, he honked his horn and yelled at me. OMG!!!

Ate at Redsauce last night as well. Sat outside and a convertable called a Vipor (sp) was burning rubber around the square. I was scared that he would hit someone. Within minutes the cops came but after 5 or 6 times of rubber burning he finally left. Don't think the cops got there in time.

Met some great people in the pools and talked so much I got a sun burn.

Tonight will be dinner at Bonefish Grill. Tomorrow will be dinner at The Lighthouse, and then home till July's visit. All for now.

Hey Missypie (love that name). Thanks for the update. It sounds as though you are enjoying all that TV has to offer. When out riding in my cart I sometimes encounter people who feel they own the road and are rude; I blow them a kiss. That really ticks them off.

Ya know, I really am having a good time. I just don't understand why these men are so mean to me.... If you want to pass me that's fine, but why yell at me? Makes me glad that I have such a confident sweet hubby that dosen't need to yell. To me that's a real man...

We got our golf cart at The Villages Golf Store at LS and they told us the speed set for golf carts in The Villages is 19 MPH. Our sales person said, no way would he turn our engine to go faster. If we would need service and the engine is turned up, we negate our warranty!!! Period!
So.... if you feel you have to go faster than me, next time you are in a hurry take your CAR!!!!

I don't know why a golf cart rental place like Gramps and Granny would rent out a cart in TV that can go faster than 19.5 mph. Also, how does the renter know how fast they are going....."up to 22"?? Does it have a speedometer?

I've been yelled at by jerks like that too and it is awful (I always go my top speed set by TV Golf Cart Store of 19). They need to leave behind in NYC or Chicago their pressure-cooker, meat-grinder, hassled view of others who have learned to slow down and enjoy life (not puddling along, either).

Hello missypie, Glad you are having a good visit, and I hope you get to buy a home in TV soon. Don't let a few rudies spoil your visit. I am a pretty cautious golf cart driver, and anyone who wants to pass me, please do so. When I am in TV, I am there to enjoy (not kill) myself. If I want to race, I can do that on my daily commute to and from my job in my regular car on the streets of suburban Chicago.

ilovetv - just an fyi, one can use their gps in a golf cart to determine the travelling speed of the cart; cart doesn't hafta have a speedometer! i found that out a while ago from some helpful posters here!

there are reasons to set a cart above the villages restricted speed...one of them would be that the total weight of two passengers riding in the cart at the same time could cause it to under-perform significantly - thus, causing the drivers of carts following to develop a case of road rage and behaving rudely!

That's what we get for coming down here and visiting Five Guys, Golden Corral, Red Sauce, Lighthouse, and on and on "weigh" to many times

I know how fast I am going because my rental has a speedometer on it. I drive at around 20 mph but sometimes skirt up to 22 mph or so.

Yes I am having a wonderful time. Thank you all for wishing me a good time.

Went to Bonefish last night and it was absolutely wonderful!

Today I am cooking some meals for the people that I am visiting so they have a few things homemade for next week, then off to the pool.

Tonight, Lighthouse.

Tomorrow the Airport, back to hubby and business...

Till July....adidos!

Oh Missy pie we just got back home from another fantastic trip to TV too and we have been there 6 times and it is good to hear of someone else in the same boat. You see it is our vacation but really that has to suffice until we can move there....can't retire yet.

Missypie, it sounds like you had a great time. The cart thing (speed) is something that everyone has experienced. Some people just don't know how to relax. By the way, there is an app for the IPhone called Limiteur that a will act as a speedometer when driving your cart or bicycle. I use it when in TV.
Safe trip home.
