Default Consider The Source

A blatantly political criticism......one interpretation and a listing of criticisms. But not one word about what should be done about the obvious problems and issues affecting the country.

Considering the source, why am I not surprised?

I do notice that you do not mention that the video did not promise any solutions...only a listing of the problems, and while there were some a bit overdone, it is generally on the mark !!!!

I would not use such a word as treasonous as of yet, but please read the thread "Need help please" and tell us what you think.

And why no specifics on what you disagree with ? That might help !

I could go from thread to thread and say stuff like that to what end ?

The solutions have been advanced from so many sources that it is a bit of a surprise that discussion hasn't focused on preparations. Hmmmmmmmm

Gratuitous insult; your new style? You're turning into a real peach, VK. I can remember when you were just smart and thoughtful, if often wrong in my opinion. Now you've just turned into a common hit-man. Not an improvement.

The video which I didn't make by the way, even if you are assigning me some credit, is a commentary on what this person would do if he wanted to harm America.

He didn't say he was presenting a talk on how to save America. I don't don't why you think he should. It wasn't his mission, which was only to get you to THINK.

He failed miserably with you.

Treason?? I don't think you know the meaning of the word. How can this be treason?

Try again.

VK...I think you have changed quite a bit. You used to come on here and lament almost all spending...preach how we need to CUT SPENDING and how we need to do this and that. It does not seem to bother you about NO budget....you pooh pooh Ryans budget EVEN as a starting point.

Now, you seem to justify everything this administration does and the spending does not bother you at all.

This is fine...you are entitled to your opinions and changes but sort of used to disagree with you on much but when it came to the finances I thought you advanced some great thoughts.

Perhaps this belongs somewhere else, but just wanted to mention how dramatic the change in your thoughts are .

You have really thin skin, Richie. Why would you be so sensitive and take as personal criticism my comment that the "source" of the video is an organization called Free Market America, a far right-leaning "think tank" substantially funded by the Koch brothers through another of their organizations, Americans for Limited Government.

Free Market America is partnered with and funded by Americans for Limited Government (AFLG). (FMA) was founded and is run by Howard Rich, a New York real estate developer. Rich was active in the Libertarian Party and worked with Charles Koch to promote small-government and free-market causes. According to their website, the AFLG objective is to "...defend economic freedom against environmental extremism."

To be honest, I embrace a lot of what AFLG is proposing. But I am offended somewhat when people--from the left or the right--drop hand grenades like this video into a forum that supposedly is intended to encourage an exchange of political thought and discussion of issues. I don't think the posting of this video, with no attempt at interpretation or a suggestion of how the video supports or amplifies our political discourse is particularly productive.

Maybe someone could post a video funded by George Soros or some other left-sided person or organization. But if was simply dropped into this forum with no comment or explanation, it doesn't seem to me that would be productive either.

I never believed that Obama's plan was to make America fail but I am starting to wonder. Last week the US government decided to sue Apple over e-books. I love Apple but I buy my e-books from Amazon, the free market will handle this problem.

When you said "the source", I naturally assumed you meant me. You didn't explain what you considered the source, and I, in fact, didn't care about the source as i just saw some real value in the message itself, regardless.

I'm sorry if I misinterpreted your response, but I'm getting a little weary of people attacking me instead of commenting on the stories I'm providing and I made a bad assumption due to scant info from you on this post.
