Default Gator bites golfer

Not in The Villages, but it could happen. Interesting story.
Golf is now a contact sport!

In theory, theory and reality are the same.
In reality, they're different!

Default IMHO, a golf ball at the lake side

is not worth the encounters with wildlife.....Monday at Mira Mesa, my friend and I had a startling encounter with a gator, while retrieving a golf ball....I learned a good lesson....BTW, now lake Mira has three gators, one is at least 9 feet long.....Yipsters....Two egyptian geese with their 4 babies were being watched by two gators, sure hope they made it through the night!

Yup. It's just a golf ball. I've got some more right here in my bag. Enjoy the ball, Mr. gator.

OK, so I'm on the record of hating gators and being afraid of them, snakes, hurricanes, sink holes, ladies with blue hair, children, ...wait, I'm off topic.

I don't understand why stories like this are reported semi-humorously. I refer to the tag line where the reporter is trying to be funny. This man was moments from death. And he still faces difficult and I suspect painful rehabilitation. And at his age it will go slowly.

Water features on golf course are pretty, but maybe, if we aren't going to control the gator population, we should go easy on them.

Oh, just one more thing...it's the journalist in me, sorry. The report said 9 feet long and 190 pounds. Unless the guys on Swamp People have been lying to me, a 9 foot gator would be more in the 800 pound range, clearly enough to drag a grown man down and kill him.

It has happened here, and it will probably happen again.

I still don't understand why people try to retrieve their ball out of these water hazards when they know gators are everywhere in Florida,....he'll have some time to think about it.
