Question Appliances

MOVING TO TV IN MID JUNE. WE WILL BE MEETING WITH THE DESIGNERS TO FINALIZE PLANS. WHAT APPLIANCES DOES TV SUPPLY WITH NEW BUILDS? WE ARE LOOKING FOR RELIABILITY AND AM WONDERING IF IT WOULD BE BETTER TO "OUTSOURCE" TO A DIFFERENT BRAND / SUPPLIER.
THANKS
EKM

Follow up question..............In an answer to my original query, there was a statement.."Also, did a gas stove because building a pool with a propane tank so had to get it outside..".I was under the impression that tv only did gas in the "old" section, not the newer neighborhoods. The missus would much rather have gas.
Also, another statement was ""We were told you had to buy appliances from TV when you build because they can't get a Certificate of Occupancy without them. ……"

“This policy changed last November. You now can opt out of all appliances except for the microwave unless something has changed again. “

Is the opt out of all appliances confirmed? This would also be good news.

Thanks,
(Note; caps lock off....better jimbo2012 ????)

I believe it's Whirlpool with Kitchen Aide as the upgrade.

Kitchen appliances are an A-B option: A=basic, B=upgrade. You must select either A or B.

Washer/dryer are a Y-N option: Y=yes, the builder-supplied make/models; N=no, you purchase separately the make/models you want.

You can select the appliances in the designer homes. Choices are black, white or stainless; top freezer, French (stainless & black only), double door. We went with the whirlpool Gold French door fridge and range but chose the Kitchenaide dishwasher due to construction and quietness. You also have two options on the range if Whirlpool, one has flat counter top the other has highback with knobs & convection, this is the standard; the counter top is an upgrade and no convection. Good luck on your choices. Welcome to TV.

Go with the cheap stuff, then buy EXACTLY what you REALLY want afterwards and sell the original appliances on TOTV or Craigslist. We bought a resale and replaced the fridge, range, and dishwasher right away. You gotta be happy with your appliances in order to be happy with your home IMO.

Send me a PM and I'll give you the name and number of a person who lives in TV and will come to your house and show you what's available out there from very basic to appliances for the rich and famous. He works for an appliance store in Orlando.

TV previously put in GE appliances. Now they contract with Whirlpool. We went with Whirlpool stainless for our kitchen appliances and opted out of the washer/dryer. We purchased our own washer/dryer.

When we bought our designer came with GE appliances. In less than five years we have had to replace the refrigerator and dishwasher. We went with LG stainless steel that we love. if you can upgrade go for it or buy what you really want.

I was told you do not need to buy your Kitchen appliances from TV you can
opted out and buy your own .I did not think this is true .
Can you opted out and buy your own ?
I did own a construction company and when we build a house you got your own appliances . I was told it cost a lot more to upgrade
We well be building our house soon .

We closed last July on a designer home and as far as the appliances we had the builder put in the standard appliances and the day after closing we had HHGreg deliver the appliances we wanted for a few thousand dollars less than upgrading through The Villages. We had the delivery men put the standard appliances in the garage and we sold them, which added to the savings.
BTW, we went with Samsung and LG, love them and all the features they offer.

We were told you had to buy appliances from TV when you build because they can't get a Certificate of Occupancy without them. Those who don't like the appliance selection offered take the cheapest (white) package and then trade in on day one. Thie COO doesn't require a washer/dryer which can easily and less expensively be bought and installed after contract.

This policy changed last November. You now can opt out of all appliances except for the microwave unless something has changed again.

We wanted to "simplify" our life so we took the WP Gold package inc. double ovens, washer and dryer with stands offered by TV.
Went with their blinds package as well so we could literally move in at closing or least with an inflatable bed until the movers move us.
We have built before and then had to coordinate the ref., washer and dryer purchase and delivery and live with paper blinds until the plantation shutters and blinds arrived.
No fun; no more.
