Default GEM Carts - What Paths & Lanes?

Saw a really sharp GEM cart at LSL yesterday with hard plastic doors on the sides. The cart had a FL license plate on it, so I assume it was street legal. Can a GEM cart be taken on the golf cart paths that run parallel to Buena Vista and El Camino Real? On streets like Rio Grande, Del Mar and Morse, do GEM cart owners drive in the golf cart lane, or do they drive in the automobile lane?

To answer your question about where GEM cars drive, the short answer is anywhere golf carts or vehicles drive as long as the speed limit on the road is not over 35 mph. GEM cars can be used on golf courses, only if the tires meet the requirements to be used on a course. This mostly has to due with width of the tire.
