Default Is this insulting or funny...

I am not sure...

"Just when you thought the Obama campaign couldn’t get any more desperate, they come up with this: the Obama Event Registry, asking supporters who are getting married, having a birthday, or celebrating an anniversary to direct gift-givers to Obama’s re-election website:

Got a birthday, anniversary, or wedding coming up?

Let your friends know how important this election is to you—register with Obama 2012, and ask for a donation in lieu of a gift. It’s a great way to support the President on your big day. Plus, it’s a gift that we can all appreciate—and goes a lot further than a gravy bowl.

Setting up and sharing your registry page is easy--so get started today."

The verbages is actually on the Obama site and you can just click and go there...to validate.

I think this goes into the HILARIOUS grouping. Can you actually imagine even the staunchest Democrat couple about to be married to ask invited friends to contribute to a political figure INSTEAD of a gift? Or for a birthday or anniversary?

If I got an invitation to a wedding, birthday party, or anniversary party with that request, I would roll my eyes, burst out laughing, and still give the usual gift of a gift card to Cody's Road House. Or I might just go to Cody's with my wife and forget about going to their function!

What a crazy idea!

This is so unimportant when compared to the critical issues facing the country and our political leaders that it doesn't justify a response.

So I won't

No story that makes Obama look less than stella is of any importance, it seems.

We must talk about important issues like the Romney PACs and the failure of the Republican led Congress to compromise...........with who, I'm not sure as nothing is brought to the floor of the Senate.

meh!

Agreed.

Give. Me. A. Break. I would consider this humiliating if I even had my name on it. Almost the lowest of the low. (Although, I can't think of anything more embarassing.)

I think this is arrogance at its finest.

Ok...now bring on all the insults and comments...give it your best.

Personally, I would much rather have a small donation made in my name, than have Sheldon Adelson donate 100 million dollars. President Obama raises most of his money from small contributors. Of course, he doesn't need that much money to compete, since he gets all the free air time he wants and flies on Air Force One.

for me it is just more demonstration that Obama and his team do not care how what ever they do or say comes across as long as they get the sheeple who would buy into it to contribute and there will be those that do.

I heard the acronym the last two days that is Obama's credo....AAM...all about me....'nuff said.

Further proof that there's no level too low to which they'll stoop.

I thought maybe it was a joke, too, and searched for it apart from any of the social networking links it's appeared on, and it is for real.

It makes the term "trailer trash" sound "upscale".
