Unhappy Weather Radio Problem

I have a Midland weather radio which I have had for 3 years or so. I know how to set the radio correctly and my settings are correct. However, I keep getting a message that says "check reception". When I press the bar at the bottom of the unit I do get reports. I think I need to replace this radio. Weather radios are not that expensive and I'd rather be woken up in the middle of the night with a voice warning me of something imminent rather than not getting a warning.

Since all my settings are correct I believe it's time to invest in another radio.

I had contacted Midland customer service and they told me to reset by unplugging but apparently this really didn't work.

You can find an inexpensive battery operated one at Radio Shack.

I bought one I like at Radio Shack which is made (sponsored) by Red Cross. It also includes a brilliant flashlight and a hand cranked charger for the radio if the batteries konk out. You can also charge your cell phone on it, which I think is a nice feature. The case is a pretty red.

A friend gave me a weather radio. I took it over to the Fire Station south on Morse 446A and they programmed it for me. It did go off the other day, so I do know my does work. Maybe you should do the same.

Last night at 4:30 the radio went off with a tornado watch report. That's the first warning I have had in more than 3 months so maybe it's working now.
