Default tree down

We lost one queen so far in the storm. It was planted about a month ago and "stacked" with four straps. As anyone had this problem thus far?

When we moved here in 2004, a year of several tropical storms in the area, our neighbors had just had their home landscaped with several queen palms. As the storms hit and the winds pounded relentlessly, we watched those palms begin to tilt...and tilt. Then, as if in a ballet, they slowly fell to the ground.

After the storm was over, the palms were righted.

Another storm hit us and once again the palms went to ground...and they were righted.

Today, they're gorgeous and healthy.

If your newly planted queen was merely uprooted, then my experience suggests that if it is replanted in a timely manner it will be fine. It's toast, however, if the wind actually snapped it in half.

It was only uprooted--did not snap! The people that put it in are on vacation and I am having trouble getting anyone on the "emergency number".

Took the golf cart around our village. Most of the neighbors added landsscaping has been in now for several months. Only one neighbor's palm tree leaning. Only been in the ground for a couple of weeks. Standing water in street in one area but not bad or dangerous.

Kudos to the grading guys and the engineers.

If you see standing water you should have warranty look at it before you add landscaping.

We sure as heck woulda had water in the basement at old home in Ohio.

Default uprooted trees?

this weather is a little scary for us but we lived in florida before my husband was transferred by his company out of state in 2004. Im so glad to finally be home. I read the posts about the hurricanes earlier and we lived through them so this is not that bad. Who do you call if there are trees down in your area?
