Default Thinking about moving to the Villages

Good morning, my wife and myself just came back from a visit to The Villages and we loved it. Now we need to do more research and see how we can figure out how to get down there.
We currently live about fourty minutes southwest of Atlanta, Georgia. Both of us are still working, but we are coming close to retirement. We are both active people and looking for a place that would allow us to continue this lifestyle.

Thank you,

Marry Ellen and Dan

Default Almost every one who posts here loves The Villages.

You are on the right track. It may be good for you to spend the next vacation here. There will be new homes and used for you to purchase WHEN you retire.

This is the place to find information and ask questions.

Welcome to the forum!

We love it here. We have just recently become full time residents after four years of snowbirding.

Hi Mary Ellen and Dan, if you are active, then this would be a great place for you. You can be as busy as you'd like, or you can just hang out at the pool with a good book. Good luck with your decision.

you would be close enough to buy a house now and have paid down on the mortgage while you are still working and have a vacation home whenever you want

Come on down to TV----there is plenty of room and more activities than you can imagine. It will be warmer in the winter than your current location and actually not much different in the summer than your current location. The TV evenings will probably be cooler in the summer because of the sea breeze. Good luck in retiring soon.

In your post you said: "we need to do more research and see how we can figure out how to get down there. "

If your concern is having two homes (until you retire and can sell your GA home), your best bet would be to speak to a Realtor in the Sales Center and ask them to explain the options available to you. The Villages is very helpful to prospective buyers.

There are people who buy in advance and rent their properties out until they are ready to move down. Often the rental income will cover a large portion of, if not all of, the new mortgage. This is one idea of many. Call the Sales Center and tell them what's on your mind.

Welcome to TOTV!! Best place for info from residents.

Another welcome from a wannabee near Chicago. As others have said, TOTV is the place to get to get information about moving to and living in The Villages. Ask questions and read TOTV and you will get an education!

Just bought house today following our second visit. From Alpharetta and you need to buy now if possible. My bet is that as the economy picks up the houses here will appreciate. They are selling fast. If I can help with what we have learned let me know.

Congrats on the purchase of your new home.
