Default Driving Ranges

Were is the best deal for doing some serious practicing?

Use to like Buffalo Ridge but there deals aren't as good as they were in the past. Any large volume or all you can hit locations?

Any suggestions?

I think Buffalo Ridge has gone down the tubes.Their putting green is terrible and the surface is always very chopped up at the t boxes...The value is just not there any more .Now I just warm up at Palmers before playing...

I go to a couple of places and like them all. I often go to Sarasota on Morse just south of 466A. I like hitting to the Island green. I also go to Tree Tops driving range on Rolling Acres Rd. They often run specials that let you hit all day for a set price. They also seem to be run by a nice family. By the way, did you know that if you just want to warm up quickly before a round, all the driving ranges in the villages have a "warm up" bucket.....it's about 12 balls for $1.00.

Tree Tops gives $2 off on Fridays for a large bucket (120) balls to Villages Homeowners Assn. members. (Make sure to take your latest VHA newspaper with you. Some of their attendants don't know about the deal.)

I purchased 50 buckets at Arnold Palmer Driving Range for $150.00 which is $3.00 a bucket. It is good at any of the driving ranges here in TV, I have used the card at Palmer, Lopez & Sarasota Driving Range.

$3 a bucket is a good price, but the problem with the Villages ranges is they are so busy especially during the high season, that it is problematic to use them. I've been to Palmer and Sarasota in March when you have to wait in line for 20 to 30 minutes just to get a spot. And I've found there are a lot of beginners on the Villages ranges that aren't aware of driving range etiquette. I've had good luck at Tree Tops, but it does mean throwing the clubs in the trunk of the car and driving. Not as convenient, but if you want to do some serious practicing, much nicer experience.
