Question Freedom Pointe

My husband and I bought a home in TV and will be living there permanently in one year. His father recently passed and his mother lives in the Army Retirement Community in San Antonio, Texas. We would love for her to move into Freedom Pointe for several reasons: she'd be closer to us and her daughter, who lives in Englewood, at 83 she is quite active and teaches line dancing. My question for posters is, does anyone have friends or relatives living at Freedom Pointe and are they happy there? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Freedom Pointe is a buy in so it is important you understand that. There are many wonderful things about a buy in but please make sure you check it out. You should look at the new Sumter Place which is an assited living but you can live there independently and enjoy the meals and housekeeping and activities included with your rent for your apartment and then as your care needs increase, you do not have to move again, you can just add on service. You can have a golf cart there and they even have charging stations. A pool will be built next year when they build the retirement home going in next to Sumter Place. You can also have access to all the activities and amenities in The Villages though I am not sure how that works as my own mom who is moving in there will probably not use many of TV amenities. Either is a great choice, just make sure you get good information on the buy in. Maybe someone who has a parent there can explain it in detail for all of us.
