I have a 2007 factory rebuilt EZGO. I bought it from a dealer in Spanish Springs in July of last year. The batteries were new 2011s. Is there anything I can do to have it do better on hills. It really slows down. I like the cart except for this limitation, however, I do not know how much money I would need to invest to get it up to "speed". Any help with this - much appreciated.

Most of the time an upgraded controller should make your cart preform better on hills. These controllers work like adding a shift to your cart and help on hill climbing. Cost $450-550 based on what motor you have. Of corse you batteries must be in good shape.

Frank, the higher amp controller produces more motor torque = more power up hills, is that correct?

That's correct Jimbo, and you did it in the form of a question, just like Jeopardy.

Is it true that an A/C motor will get you up a hill at the same speed as on a flat road?

Thanks Frank. I think I might invest the money and have it done. Better than spending $10,000+ for a new cart.

Any answer to this question? I am interested to know. Sorry if it has been answered somewhere else in this forum.

Yes the answer was that an upgraded controller would make the difference on hills. Controllers increase torque not speed.
I hope that helps. |
