Default Hit & Run Damage Cost Corvette Vs Golf Cart

At 4:40 PM on Tue, July 17 near Morse & San Marino north of 466 a green golf cart crashed into the right side of my wifes car. The green golf cart driver sped off. The car is a gray Corvette with black convertable top that sustained major damage. Impact was such that it knocked off the vacuum control lines from the heater/AC unit located under the hood. Parts to be replaced are as follows: Right front fender, right front wheel, right door, right door glass, right mirror, right quarter panel. The green golf cart may have a bent roof top frame from hooking the right side mirror. The glass from the mirror impacted the passenger door glass hard enough to pit the door glass. This green golf cart has to have front damage and possibly bent roof/windshield supports.

The cost to repair the vehicle is $6274.35 - This does not include 2 weeks of car rental.

Does anyone know someone with a green golf cart that appears damaged or who is not using their green golf cart?

It's a cheap shot when there is a hit and run.

I had a hit and run last year while I was in TV and it cost ME my deductable and $10.00 every month now extra on my insurance.

So thanks alot to anyone who hits and runs.

Hope you find who did it.

So sorry to hear about this. I am not aware of anyone with a damaged green golf cart in my neighborhood of Lynnhaven even though that seems to be a common color.

Could you narrow the "green" down? Dark green, light green, etc. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shades_of_green

They're going to have to go to a body shop for repairs someday so maybe a sherrifs bulletin to the golf cart stores will help find the coward that did this.

Steve, I am willing to canvas the golf cart repair places for you.

Again I bump the question...

Does anyone know of a green golf cart recently damaged or one that has suddenly stopped being used? If so PM F16.

You might also want to check with the local rental companies (Gandma & Grandpa's, Jim Followell (or whatever the name is now), etc. to see if someone sold a used, damaged cart to them for parts.

I am so sorry this happened. I don't care if you hit something with your car, cart, bike, fist or golf ball, you take responsibility for your actions. There's no excuse.

Check with local authorities to see if a cart matching that description was reported stolen. The person reporting the theft will be your H&R driver. This is a common ploy.

F16 I might just run an ad in The Sun and offer a reward for information leading to finding this person whose cart is damaged.

That may be silly now that I think of it, because he isn't going to turn himself in and his wife isn't going to rat him out for sure. I just wish a neighbor would get in touch with you. You could leave your phone number in an ad in the paper.

Too prove he did it would be difficult. I think he would lay low and not use it for awhile or try to sell it for parts maybe off campus.

I think it is someone who had a snoot full. What time of the day was it again?

This really makes me wonder if we don't need cart ID numbers. And I hate to think of the hooplah that would engender among the folks who are for it or against it. What a fight. It would be Gary Morse's fault for sure.

Somewhere there is a dark green golf cart that is damaged and is either not being used or is being repaired.

Please know that Mr.and Mrs. F16 are decent, hardworking folks with level heads and kind hearts and that Corvette was part of Steve's dream.

Someone knows where it is and who it belongs to.

That is crazy, maybe we should have a line-up for the Michigan State people. Could he be a New York Jet fan, or the eagles,or Baylor Bear, or maybe the Village High School fan. This is a little crazy. It was a accident, thousands happen everyday. The person has insurance,it will be taken care. Yes some time without car and some small costs.Talk of newspaper adds and of registar of carts. This is a little too much. These are the things that drive me and the wife crazy.........

That's a joke obviously. A golf cart tangling with a car will have to be repaired, so I would expect the cops will nail this man when he tries to get it fixed. I assume F16 has reported this hit and run to the police in Lady Lake? Or is this in Sumter County?
