Have a 400 gallon spa and need to drain. What do I do with the water? Is it acceptable to flow onto plants and garden or will the chemicals do damage? What does the Health Dept say?

I had the same problem. I allowed the chemicals to dissipate on their own before I drained it. I was still concerned about the effect on plants and lawn, so I used an electric pump and hose to drain the water directly into a storm drain.

I have been draining my hot tub onto our lawn for two years now and the result is where I drain the tub onto the grass, the grass and plants are lush, green and beautiful. Don't look for problems. Just drain the tub onto ur lawn. Ur lawn will thank u.

I created a siphon with the garden hose and drained it into our pool. T&D folks said the chemicals won't hurt plants or bushes just as it didn't hurt us . Bromine I guess vs harsher stuff

I drained my hot tub up north onto the lawn for 10 years. Never caused a problem. Wish I had one in TV.

Like the previous poster mentioned, I have been draining onto the lawn for 1.5 years every 30 days and my lawn looks great, no ill effects. I use bromine and all the other chemicals they sell to keep the PH normal.
