Default Romney's road trip...

...to Great Britain. I wonder if Romney is related to the Griswolds??? Beginning to look like it with all the misguided adventures he has had in the past few days. We could call this National Lampoon's Olympic Vacation?

He may have horrible social skills, but he is good at budgeting.

Oh, the Brits are unhappy that the man who saved the Olympics is skeptical of their logistical planning?

Oh, Boo Hoo.

They better hope he's not correct in his observations.

Will they print THAT story?

I know the following will be sliced, diced and degenerated by the usual few, however.....whether it is Romney or anybody else, I much prefer spontaneous, real commentary that is open to honest, human error than a highly polished, practiced, scripted, not what the person really thinks or is type.

In my business dealings in Europe and the far east, what I admired most was how very openly candid they were in conversation. Totally and completely the opposite of the disgustingly, phony, disingenuous politically correct () approach.

So for me if they are knowledgeable, courteous, real and HONEST, that is a much more desirable person to deal with.

I view and respect a person who speaks what they think and believe.....not one who is practiced at parroting what he thinks wants to be heard.

If some are going to measure...how about comparing Obama when he is off the script/teleprompter to Romney. Seems those who compare have short memories that Obama did not do well on his first visit to the UK (and some others). To be fair go back and check out his performance.....if how Romney performed is a point for some....the counter point is obviously where Obama screwed up when he went to the UK....look it up.

Ahhhh....can't wait until we get to issues of substance.....some of us have been waiting for over 4 years!!

It would be welcome to see some straight forward honesty from our politicians

I don't remember President Obama being booed by 60,000 Londoners. Could you post a link to that?

Default It sounds like Romney had a great deal of support...

...from the Federal Government--of all things considering recent attacks on Obama and his business remark about how no small business does it alone--in shoring up the sinking Salt Lake City Olympic ship.

This should clear up the London comments. Now, let Mitt get back to more important issues.

You are right that this foot in mouth instance of Romney at the Olympics is not all that important to the US elections in November.

Could be important though with how other countries view the US political process. I also see Romney as certainly the best of the Republicans who ran for their party's Presidential nomination.

I can't argue with any of that.

Romney is the more qualified candidate in 2012.....politics aside, the world recognizes that as well. Every civilized, thinking country acknowledges business based people are more solid than politicians....more truthful than politicians and certainly more capable.

I guess everybody around the world knows how phony and self centered career politicians are.

Do you really think the American people want to hold their breath every time their president opens his mouth while traveling the world? We had that for eight years with George W Bush. The gaffes yesterday hurt only Mitt Romney, but had he been on official business, he could have created real rifts between the US and Great Britain. Hopefully, he won't tell any Polish jokes while in Poland.

Not sure where you are getting this. President Barack Obama seemed beloved in many parts of the world in 2008 because he looked like a new kind of politician. Someone who cares about making his country a better place for more people.

Romney seems to be the epitome of the politician who will say anything and take any position to get elected by whatever group he sees as the most vocal voting block. Believe many people in foreign lands also see this.

He is great at making people money though. Sure the world sees how rich he is. Not sure if this qualifies him in any way with running a country.
