Well Gracie, let me put it this way. In the last state that we lived in it was open carry and also concealed carry. Almost everyone carried everywhere, in Walmart, the grocery store, movies and anyplace that was legal to carry. Never had anyone running or driving around shooting at anyone. When you get places that declare themselve to be "Gun Free Zones" who do you think will be "packin' heat." Not the law-a-bidden citizen. Its a joke amoung firearms trainers that "Gun Free Zones" are actually called "Target Rich Environments," meaning only the bad guys have guns, because they are criminals who are breaking the law for a living and they don't care. Surprise, Surprise.

Bad Guys may be stupid but they aren't dumb. They fear meeting an armed citizen much more then they ever fear meeting up with the police. We need to pass laws that take the criminal off the streets, use a firearm in the commission of a crime, 50 years, first offense, hurt someone, no matter how minor the injury, death penalty. Only take a couple cases and most of this craziness would stop. Disarming law abidding citizens does nothing to reduce crime. Stumping hard on criminals really does reduce crime. No good time, no reduced sentences, do the crime do ALL the time.

GUN CONTROL is nothing but a government fearing its law abidding citizens and is more commonly called PEOPEL CONTROL.

I keep a watch on the surrounding areas, when minor crimes start taking place in The Villages, on a regular bases, I will start carrying all the time. Sometimes it minor stuff that takes place before the major stuff hits the fan. I have home owners insurance, auto insurance and also crinimal insurance. I hope that I never have to use any of them.

I don't think "random shooting" is really that unusual in Miami. So, if one feels safer in Miami "packing", then so be it.......I just have a real problem with folks "packing" in TV.

Oops, there I go preaching again.

A random shooting anywhere should be unusual. Don't think that it can't happen here. It not a question of if its going to happen, its just a question of when.

Question I'm confused

The article says that it stems from a DV incident in a car. Then the shooter goes to the girl's relative's home and shoots at the victims there. That's not so random to me. That's premediated. Very sick. I'm happy to hear the child is ok.
