Planning a visit in October.
Assuming (hate that word) we love it as most of you do, we are not sure of what we will be buying. However, if we decide to have a home built, can anyone give me a rough estimate as to how long it would take to complete? I am speaking of a frame house - if you also have an idea about a concrete block house I would appreciate it. Starting to think of all the "what ifs" that go with this possible relocation. Thanks for all your help. C Ya soon . . .

Ours was a large concrete block house but I don't think it makes a difference. In the current sales climate here (sales are brisk) the pacing event is how long it takes to get an appointment with the design team...that could easily be longer than the 90 days required to build your house. Also, I believe that currently they are only doing design/build for designer/premier homes and all other homes they are just building as spec houses as fast as they can since demand exceeds supply.

Frame, block or poured concrete are the same time to build about 75 day after you sign off with a design member at your meeting, but those design meeting are now open at the earliest in Dec, so you can move in about Feb.
So pick a lot there are over 400 to pick from and over 20 home designs that can be customized.

Since moving into Tamarind Grove just over a year ago, I ride my bike every week around Odessa Circle, it surrounds our villas. The street is now finished, I must of seen at least 20 designer homes go up. Usually from the time they break ground to laying the sod is about 6 - 8 weeks, sometimes even less.

I closed on my Designer home (an Iris) in May. I think it was 62 days to closing. My home turned out beautiful!

My wife and I concluded our design meetings on 7/11 and were advised that building would commence on 7/24 and closing was scheduled for 9/27. The ground breaking took place on schedule and we now have complete block walls with ceiling joists on site for installation on Monday. I've been told that the roof will go on in one day by at least 2 different people. There are disincentives for the builder if the house isn't completed by the provided date and there are also disincentives for the owner if they aren't ready to close on that date. From what I've seen, I'd be surprised if the dates weren't accurate. Ours is a Zinnia (block, 3br and 3 bath). Sounds like about 69 days for construction.

Hey Rebel Pirate.
Hows the MacClenny "hood" shaping up? Are all of the homes on Ardsley built? |
