Default Low Carb Snacks

Hi:
For those on low carb diets share what they eat for snacks? My husband and I are on low carb diets. It seems that right after I eat I crave something sweet. I've been eating sugar free jello with light whipped cream and those chocolate mousse jello snacks. Could use any other ideas even if they aren't sweet.

Thanks all!

The best tasting low carb, high protein, bars I ever found are called Think Thin. Publix stocks them in the pharmacy area with other nutrition bars.

There are always pork rinds for zero carbs crunchy snacks.

Sugar free fudge sickles are only 40 calories and 9g of carb.

Almonds and walnuts works for me. Also try a carrot or a stick of celery. Another is a slice of cheese. An apple also works.

Default low carb snacks

I am trying to get away from sweets all together. They seem to make cravings worse. I do eat blue berries, but mainly snack on almonds, and sometimes cheese. Twenty pounds and still at it.

I make this great little LC treat, it is called Chocolate Delight (or as the LC people like to call it CD's BTW....I make two individual ones a day in little condiment cups about the size of Reese's PB cups....that way I don't overeat.

1 TBLSP of Coconut Oil
1 tsp of Hershey's cocoa
4-6 drops of Sweetleaf Stevia flavoring of your choice (I use Vanilla and hazelnut a lot)
Few shakes of Sea salt (cuts down on bitterness, although I like dark chocolate)

put in the microwave about 30seconds if CO is hard. Stir and put in the freezer for at least 1/2-1hr. Also, you can add things to it, like Peanut Butter, nuts or unsweetened coconut flakes. Some even put chili powder in it

I am trying to stay as low carb as possible for a while, and find that Diet Root Beer and Diet Dr. Pepper are perfect for that sweet treat. Each is almost too sweet, so I have it like wine in the evening.

Found some hidden carbs in my life last week. A prescription powder that I take once a day has 16 carbs per day! When trying to stay under 40 carbs, and one thing has 16, that doesn't leave much room for "sneaky" carbs.

Are the fat grams right??? That seems awfully high.

I love frozen grapes -- especially the red ones. I buy a bunch of grapes, wash and remove the stems. Put them in a freezer bag and put them in the freezer. They are ready when you want them. I also put them in my smoothies.

i was eating frozen grapes until i saw what they did to raise my sugar! i have switched to slicing a banana and/or strawberries [or can cut into chunks] and sprinkling well with low carb cocoa mix. when fruit is well coated i put it into my plastic zip bag and freeze it.

a few pieces of the fruit can be mixed into the low carb puddings, too.

both desserts remind me of the good old days of chocolate covered strawberries and bananas! the new desserts are much easier to deal with re portion control!
