Default NASA lands rover on Mars....no R or D needed:

Mars rover Curiosity lands, sends back more pictures (live) - Ideas@Innovations - The Washington Post

This is what reporting results looks like for spending billions!!!!

The payback will be not only the scientific achievement itself, but all the benefits of the amazing technological fetes and equipment to make it happen. As in past NASA accomplishments in space and on the way there and back, the ultimate transfer of the technology to our daily lives is immeasurable.

Congratulations to NASA.....where decisions are made and risks are taken to make something happen!!!

I hated to see the "cut backs" in NASA. Space Program one of the best programs of all time! Benefits far outweigh the costs.

I'm not going to get all excited about NASA engineers. They didn't build that.
