Default Reasonable priced landscaper

Derek Selander 323-377-0185 He was half the cost of the other landscapers who gave a price for placing stone and planting bushes and trees in our front yard. He will go to any nursery and pick up trees or anything else you pick out for half the cost or more. He is a young really nice guy. Our neighbors down the street had Stellar give them a estimate for stone in their front yard for $1300, Derek did it for $550. We have had a lot of people work for us and this guy seems honest and nice.

Probably not a landscaper, but just a guy with a truck and a wheel
barrow. Ask about insurance, workers comp, deed compliance, dig safe, bonding, and some sort of license, to do work in the Villages. These are usually all of my first questions followed by references and a no deposit policy.

Thank you so much for this information. We've used many landscapers in the area and all seem to charge high rates. Thanks again for the information!

Default Landscaper or planter?

Difference between a landscaper and a planter. If you know exactly what you want and where you want it, then you don't need a landscaper for his eye and his knowledge about what trees and plants are best for the area. That is what you are paying a landscaper for. There are many DIY'ers that do a lovely job with their landscape and just need someone to do the heavy work.

I seem to have better luck in Canada as I know what I want and what works up here, so I designed and planted the garden ourselves. In Florida we chose to work with a landscaper as I had no knowledge of what was good for the location, climate and heat/drought so it was worth it as we had a guarantee and a professional opinion which gave us peace of mind.

As it turned out, even though I wasn't in TV, I was able to get him to monitor the new tree and it needed attention and trimming. So it has been money well spent.

This is helpful. I moved to TV 8/17. Have been saturated with lawn care and water purification companies knocking at my door. Please give me your experience for fair price and dependable thorough service for the lawn care package. Have you experienced Stellar, Dean and Massey?

Also, the actual need for a water purification system. If there is a real need, have you experienced Priority h2o? TAS? or just buy a water filter?
Many thanks. Drumrchic

Default Fernview Farms

Before we put in artificial turf in our CYV we had Fernview Farms do our lawn care. They did a good job and came regularly and they only charged $20 a month. If you want trimming or fertilizing or any other gardening done, they will do that to and you can have them cost it out for you. Before that we had another service that was charging $40 a month for the same service.

As far as water filtration, I just use the PUR faucet filter. I do need something as the taste of unfiltered water is not to my liking and I want to eliminate the chlorine and other contaminants. Haven't yet looked into a whole house filter, but might in the future.

We also had water people banging on our door. We bought a TAS system, without checking prices. Not only is it expensive, but they don't tell you about the ongoing expense each year to keep the warrenty valid. Plus you can't buy your own parts to do it yourself. Our water smelled like chlorine when we first moved in and bought a whole water system and reverse osmosis for drinking water. Go to one of the big box stores and save lots of money, and don't get a sales pitch that leaves out a lot of important information.

How refreshing to have an honest guy, willing to do an honest days work, for a fair wage. Wow - back to the good old days.
