Default Incident at Sweetbay

The following brief story was posted today on the Sumter County news section on CFNews13.com

Sumter man accused of grabbing woman at grocery store

THE VILLAGES --
A 27-year-old man may be deported after an incident at a supermarket.

Sumter County Sheriff's deputies said Romeo Hernandez grabbed a 64-year-old woman's buttocks as she shopped at a Sweetbay Supermarket.

Deputies said the victim screamed and Hernandez quickly left the store.

They said the store's surveillance video led them to Hernandez, who works at a pizza restaurant near the supermarket.

He told deputies he may have accidentally touched the woman.

Deputies said Hernandez told them he's in the country illegally.

Detectives have alerted officials with Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Hernandez was arrested, charged with battery and taken to the Sumter County Detention Center.

I seriously doubt that he'll be deported in light of Obama's recent executive order.

So, how is he working if he is illegal? How many more illegals are working in and around the Villages?

Only people who have never been arrested are eligible for a two year reprieve from deportation under an Obama administration program that begins accepting applications Wednesday.

How about the business owners who hire these illegals be held accountable too? In AZ there is a state law that does just that.

Obama administration is not to blame for this. How about the pizza shop that hired him.Half the houses would not be built here if you think about it.When was the last time you ever seen a Border Patrol or Immigration patrol car around here. Some parts of the country they outnumber the local police department. They are one that gets what they want. Cars ,cars and more cars. Boats, never seen so many they have in their arsenal....

"Deputies said Hernandez told them he's in the country illegally."

Why would an arrestee tell that that information to local police/sheriff, compounding the charges against himself?

If he was asked if he's here legally, then the U.S. Attorney General and Justice Dept. will be on his side, as evidenced in Arizona and its attempted legislation to allow police to ask for proof of legal residency.

I wonder about the validity of the quote about him saying he's here illegally.

Let's keep partisan political statements out of this thread and focus on the reported incident. If not, the thread may have to be closed or moved to political.

Thanks for your cooperation.

Okay, surprise us. How many are there? And where do you get the numbers? Or are you just assuming that the many folks working around TV are "illegal" based on their appearance?

Probably Bravo Pizza across the road from Sweetbay. If it is that store, don't frequent it if you oppose the hiring of illegals.
