We had a couple calls from that number but as soon as i registered our new numbers with the do not call list (national) they suddenly stopped. Not saying you're going to have that luck but after you do that, answer, tell them you are on a do not call list and calls are recorded. You are not likely to hear from them again. Actually haven't had solicitors since I did that...but be ready for robo calls...tis the season

Answer the phone "Sheriff's Department"
I bet they won't call again.

If you have Comcast Voice phone service you can press * 60 and it will ask you if you want to block the last number called. Press # if you want to put that number on your blocked list. I just recently found out about it by poking around on the internet looking for a way to block unwanted solicitors! I already have 12 numbers on my call rejection list!

A good option on any smartphone is to download a silent ringtone, and then assign unwanted numbers the silent ringtone.

Also on any (I think) smartphone, you could just hit the decline button to reject the call. Eventually maybe the caller will get the hint.

Somehow 3 telemarketers got my wife's cell phone number and we have been experiencing 3-5 calls per day, even more sometimes. It was a real pain in the backside because of the rudeness of no one at the other end acknowledging our "Hello". I just programmed the numbers in the cell with a "Do Not Pickup" as an identifier and programmed the phone to "no Ring". They can call as much as they want to and it wont disturb us. When my wife needs to use her cell phone, she laughs at all the "missed Calls".

You can always try this. Do a Google search on the name Tom Mabe and you will geta link to a Youtube video / audio that will tel you just how to deal with telemarketers,

I tried to post the URL but it seems that posting URL no longer works. Oh well.

When I don't recognize the number on my Caller ID, I push Speaker Phone and just go about my business. A few telemarketers have stopped calling. It is so funny to hear them say "hello" "hello" "hello"? over and over. Dopes!
