Can someone tell me what is done to a golf cart when it is reconditioned? I see ads for carts for sale and sometimes they say reconditioned in 2011 for example. I would like to know what is done to them during the reconditioning process.

Depends on who does it. The villages golf carts, for example strips them down to the frame, paints the frame, and builds from there up to factory spec. good as new with 3 year warranty.

You're best to ask the person/dealer to note the specifics of exactly what they do. Reputable places will be glad to give you a list of each and every thing they do. If someone hems-and-haws their way through it and/or won't document it....................

There is factory rebuilt and local rebuilds, the factory ones have a new serial number stamped on them.
The thing that I see is if you shop outside the TV bubble you can buy brand new for the same money. about $5200 A dealer rebuild must be less money to justify it depending on added extra lift kit wheels tires. They run $3500-$5000 Either way the Club Cars have a lighter rust free alum frame.

I bought a 2010 last year from Village Golf Carts...It is a gas Yamaha...At that time I got a 4 yr warranty..The only stipulation is that I must let them servoce it anually at a cost around 75 bucks...This cart had custom paint, wheels, interior with the bells and whistles..It was more than 5200 dollars but in my opinion well worth it..they are fantastic to deal with.
