Default Solar tubes

We are thinking of having a 14" tube put in our kitchen. What can we expect to pay for that? I've heard 400 to 700.....comments appreciated!

you will most likely not find the 14" ones for $400.....the bigger ones even with discounts will run close to $600.

There are several providers in TV and near by. Do yourself a favor and have them ALL come to give you a quote and understand the "technology" they are providing.

When all gets said and done they are all selling getting reflected light into your home.

Default solar tubes

We had one installed about 5 year ago, its been great. Should have listened to the installer and had 2 9" instead of the 14". We also had the solar attic fan put in. No electrical cost to run. Whenever there is sun the fan runs, there is no thermostat to set to have it go on at a certain tempture. We think that the solar tube was well worth the cost because we do not have to turn on the lights to read or whatever during the day.

Had 3 installed in my CYV by The Solar Guys. Absolutely love them and the amount of light they send into the kitchen and 2 bathrooms which are all interior rooms and were generally dark prior to installation. I paid approx $1500 for the three installs and was able to write some of the expenses off on my taxes at the end of the year.

Default Great product

We used The Solar Guys have 3 large and 2 smaller ones plus 2 attic fans. If you need info there is a Craft Fair coming up in Colony Plaza either this weekend or next. Both solar tube guys will be there. I love the product.

A solar tube is like a skylight. We put one in each interior bathroom. We used the Solar Guys and they were great. They are about $500 ea. Makes a big difference in the interior spaces.

Please don't ever feel that asking a question is out of line.....

Here's the web site for a local installer that many people use - lots of good info:

Cedwards, Your question is not stupid. I had never seen a solar tube until I rented in TV for the first time last year. One of the houses I rented had them in both bathrooms, and they really made a big difference in keeping those interior rooms bright without having to turn on the lights.

We had five solar tubes installed by The Solar Guys. The bigger the better ..... I like a nice bright house. To obtain estimates, if you google solar tubes, you'll see lots of companies that install them. The Solar Guys are very popular with Villagers.
