Default Golf Carts Allowed in Fruitland Park?

Entering Fruitland Park by way ofCR466A and CR468A, there are digital signs that read:

New City Ordnance
Golf Carts Allowed

Anybody know anything about that?

Go to page 69 in this link and you'll have some information. It appears that they must be street legal vehicles if I'm reading the report correctly.

And an update, changing the age and license requirements....page 125

The minutes state golf carts for roads with speed limits of 30 MPH or less and LSV for 35 or less. Doesn't mean anything for us since the road going into Fruitland is 45 MPH. Personally, I see problems ahead since Fruitland doesn't have any golf cart paths (as far as I know).

I agree. If I am reading the minutes correctly it seems they are going to designate certain roads for carts/LSV. They mention a map. However, once people start seeing others in carts, it will not take long for carts to show up where they shouldn't be. I once saw a man on a powered chair cross 441 across 4 lanes of traffic going 55 mph!

The rules in FRUITLAND Park are : Inspected golf carts with city stickers will be allowed on most city streets. Drivers must be licensed and 16 or over, carts must be insured by a homeowners policy as a minimum. 466A and 441/27 are restricted for use. Streets allowing golf carts will be 30 mph or less and the carts do not need to have LSV tags. The cart safety
Inspections are done by golf cart dealers and the safety inspection forms are then taken to the FRUITLAND PK police for city stickers.

Default Not our problem

Unless Sumter County And TV change their position which I don't see happening let Fruitland Park do as they please. Sumter County has different rules and Wildwood has alrready been told no way. So that's the problem of fruitland Park just remember they're on the road when you get down that way.

I believe Fruitland Park is in Lake County.
