Not quite sure where this might belong, but do not think it is "political"... I am wondering whether anyone is aware of a website that discusses the ammendments that we will have on our (Sumter Co.) ballot and perhaps even recommendations, along with rationale.

Thanks for this link. If you open this link, scroll down to Amendment Presentations it gives a list of where you can go to learn about the amendments. There are three locations in The Villages, but need your ID.

Thanks for the link (which does work)... Question: Are these sessions presented from a non-partisan perspective (if that is possible)... I really don't want a Republican OR Democrat point of view on these...

It's my understanding that the League of Women Voters is nonpartisan. I had a call from the League saying their position is to vote no to all amendments because they all change the state constitution.

I'm of the impression that it is just a matter of explaining the list of amendments. I don't see how they could make them either party, do you? I've seen a couple of the amendments and they have nothing to do with either party, just voting on what has been put forward on the ballot with local interest.

The LOWV is non-partisan and not political, just informational. They do not make any recommendations on candidates but do on ballot issues and constitutional amendments.

From what I understand, the entire amendment of all ten amendments is going to be on the ballot, so it would behoove everyone to read and decide before they get in the voting booth, or there will be very long lines waiting to vote. These amendments must have 60% majority to pass, that's why they rarely pass.

I have just read through the list of amendments and have come back to TOTV to yet again, thank you for listing this link. I was not at all well informed on these Amendments, and waiting until being in the polling booth is not conducive to fully understanding the importance of several of these Amendments.

Hopefully this will give a heads up to others on this site to inform themselves fully before voting.
