Default Airport Transportion

Flying out of MCO first of November...pros and cons of Village shuttle out of LSL or Village van that picks you up. Looked at the threads and it seems people are unhappy on both. Is there something else?

Comes down to one's own choice. I prefer the shuttle out of LSL as I do not like riding all over the villages before I go to airport. I don't think either one is bad.

Just can't please some people. I just read a thread wherein someone said the Brownwood Sat morning market isn't "worth" it. IT'S FREE - Granted it's no Market of Marion but worth?

Anyway.......... The Villages Shuttle out of LSL is a direct non-stop flight.

The Villages Airport Van stops at up to 9 locations both ways depending on # of passengers so, it's difficult to gauge your time.

I also think the non-stop shuttle is a little more comfortable but that's a personal thing as I'm a big guy.

I have used both. both. The Shuttle has prearranged times that might not coincide with your flight. You can arrange for door to door pickup. The Van will pick you up at TV home or Airport at any time you wish. I have never had a problem with either.

I love Villages Transportation.... The shuttle out of LSL. I have taken it several times. Saves my husband from making the drive to the airport and all of those tolls and the price of gas! For $30 bucks, you can't beat it. Now if I have a party of 2 or more, it would be more cost effective for him to pick me up....but just little old me.....it's worth it.

Call a friend and buy them lunch? (sorry, I'm not there yet!)

In Sept used the shuttle from airport to TV with drop off at LSL. Had all my luggage too. Comfortable seats and great temperature. $30 and tip. Convenient. Will be using again when I come and go in November. It was so easy - a great asset for villagers, guests, family and visitors.

Cool

I find it much more convenient to rent a car from Enterprise (in LSL) one-way and I can leave whenever I want... I believe a car one-way to MCO is $40.

It's a little more to rent one-way from MCO --> LSL, but no waiting for a shuttle or stopping 10 times before you get home.

Just another option you might consider...

We have used the Villages Van and the Airport Shuttle in the last two weeks. My husband had to go to the airport and my golf buddies came from and back to the airport. Hubby used the Airport Shuttle and though they picked up a couple more people, was happy with the service. Two different groups took the shuttle FROM the airport and both didn't like it because it took so long, so they are taking the Villages Van to the airport right now. If I'm not mistaken, the Villages Van has lowered their rates. Didn't they used to be $35 (just like the shuttle) and charge an extra $5 for golf clubs? Today it was $30 with no extra charge for the clubs. I'm telling the rest of the visitors to use them. It's not that difficult to pick them up in LSL.

I went to enterprise when I was down in sept and they quoted me 75 dollars one way to the airport. I went there because I read on here that it was cheaper than the shuttle. Only if you have two or more people willing to share.

enterprise is expensive because they charge extra when you do not drop off where you pick up car. try hertz in the villages. if make reservation ahead can usually get car for about 40 one way for small car. that's what we do.
