Default Favorite weather caster and/or weatherman/woman.

Since many of us are going to be watching a lot of weather casters over the next few days, I was wondering who is your favorite??

I listed mostly Weather Channel or other celebrity/weather casters from various national news services. I had to leave out many score of TV stars from regional stations like John Coleman, Angela Hutti, Bob Richards, etc.

I don't watch TV so I won't be following the storm closely, I'l just read about it in the Daily Sun. If I decide to get an update, I'll turn on the radio (usually at 12 noon) and Fox news/weather report will likely be the one. Most of the time, for local weather reports, I tune in to Karl Loeper on WVLG.

Listening to storm reports, from other states, doesn't excite me. The first few minutes are usually enough but they tend to go on and on.

I very seldom watch the weather reports on TV. They never seem to cover the area I am in so it is generally a waste of time. I used to look at the TV weather on channel 99 to see what it looked like for my golfing outing but the new format got rid of that option.

My favorite weathercaster is NOAA - National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Here I can read the forecasts, look at the maps, watch the radar for any zip code I choose and not once have to deal with the inane blatherings of these various nit-wits.

Guessing you're from St Louis I will go with Dave Murray not Bob Richards it doesn't seem he was very moral and i don't agree with how he ended it

Actually, have not been to Missouri since interviewing at the Supreme Court Law Library in Topeka, KS around 1993. They seemed to warn me that I would not like it there because of the twisters.

I had flown into Kansas City, MO to get a shuttle to Topeka.

I did get to check out Topeka, KS though. Very interesting State Capitol Building in Topeka.

I picked up many of the names from here-- http://www.ranker.com/list/notable-m...t_s)/reference Stephanie Abrams at #51 made me want to redo the list for TOTV.

They look really stupid doing that. One of them will get killed and that will be the end of such thrill seeking. They seem to have gotten a little more thoughtful about the power of Mother Nature and are not taking such inane risks for ratings.

If your in the Cleveland Ohio market you have Dick Goddard and has been on TV since aboout 1961 doing the weather. He is now 81 and still doing the weather 5 nights a week at 6 and 10. He has a problem with all the new TV technology and is talking about a screen that has yet to appear or has appeared and is gone. He also spends too much talking about other interests and not doing the weather. It is time for hime to retire a LONG time ago.

I think it's hard to argue with the success of the Weather Channel.
There are now fewer clown shows that pass for weather reports. Although Sonny Elliott was certainly a Detroit legend.

I'll take Tom Skilling of WGN anyday. I for one am sick of the "infotainment" that the weather channel is filled with. Just give me the weather report please.

Patty, you often have such amusing observations as about Geraldo Rivera's mustache. Geraldo Rivera - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

He does seem to be a favorite target of Mad TV and Saturday Night Live .

Seems like "someone else" is the big winner in this weather person poll with Jim Cantore in second. He does not seem to take really stupid risks with his life just for Weather Channel ratings. He is out near or on the weather story front though.

We used to joke when we lived in Palm Harbor that if Jim Cantore is coming to town we better get out before the hurricane came.
