Just got it about two months ago. For the extra monthly $20, not too impressed. It records all prime time shows that air on NBC, ABC, CBS and Fox...but you have to delete them all, too....as for the "hopper" that eliminates the commercials...not quite as promoted. When a commercial comes on, the television comes to a pause, a few seconds more delay, and then picks up the about 15 seconds of the commercial that airs just before the return of a program. (I noticed that those 15 seconds usually are ads promoting whatever channel you are watching, NBC ad, Fox ad, etc.) If you are into recording lots of shows, this may fit your need. We have four TVs and hubby does record a lot. But, you have to program each tv individually if you want to set up your own channel list, etc. Again, Dish has to do a little more "polishing" to sell this Hopper. It's not all that it's cracked up to be. And surprise, you do not get a manual with the Hopper. You'll be reading up a lot on the Dish Internet site. Hope this helps.

The number one advantage to Dish is we no long have to deal with the major problems of Comcast. Glad we changed to Dish. Also we have DSL through CenturyLink for the internet. ![]() |
