I read an article on the restaurant that allude to the NYT article but didn't see the review itself until you posted it.

NYT usually doesn't review a place of this nature as it tends to focus on the finer dinning establishments. It seemed very harsh on Guy Fieri. He really had nothing nice to say.

I enjoy seeing him on the Food Network, he style of cooking is not something I would probably appreciate. At least that was my stomach would be telling me. I still think many people will try for themselves and make their own opinions. I'm sure Guy will make the necessary corrections as he laughs all the way to the bank.

Guy Fieri should open a place here in TV, based on that review he would do quite well.

I really don't find the review "snarky", more like the reviewer was annoyed for having his time wasted, if you read the other comments he's not alone in those feelings.
