WOW. That was very emotional and patriotic. It reminds us once again, of how lucky we have been to grow up in this great country. I teared up when Lee Greenwood sang "Proud to be an American". Two of the thirty sworn in were in uniform, already serving the country that they only now became an official part of. BEAUTIFUL!!!!!! to the new citizens.

Did not see this one, but these ceremonies should be televised more often. We who were born here often take for granted all the glorious liberty with which we've been endowed by our Creator.

In all the talk about illegal immigration, I wish the story would be told/broadcast on how all these newly-naturalized citizens

...stood in line,
....waited,
...worked 18 hours a day,
....waited,
...scrimped and saved their hard-earned money,
....waited,
...put up with our immigration service's disorganization and loss of their applications already submitted properly and with hundreds/thousands of dollars down the drain,
....waited,
...............and waited, to come here legally.

It's still nice to hear that people from other countries realize the greatness of America and proudly work towards citizenship. It reminds me of my mother and father when they came to this country and wanted to be part of the American dream.

In the fifties they visited their home countries and after getting back, I remember my mother saying she wanted to kiss the ground as she saw what a hugh difference in from where they came from.

A funny story is I remember her packing for the trip and she was putting rolls of toilet paper in her suitcase. I said, what are you doing?. I was thinking, they must have toilet paper in her home country. She informed me she knew what she was doing and was not found of using sandpaper. Ouch!

BTW - Robison Cano of the NY Yankees just got sworn in as an American citizen.

I agree that it should be televised more often. I would hope that it would help to make people understand the importance of this ceremony.

Those people spend years waiting and spend thousands of dollars to become a U.S. citizen. My hat goes off to them!

This is why it is such a slap in the face to them that the Illegals can simply walk in and demand a "pathway".
