For some reason our twin grandsons which are now 17 started calling me "popeye" (their other grandfather was papa) when they were old enough to start talking. Since then all our other four have called me "popeye", and I LOVE it. They call my wife Lala, which is their version of her name Lila.

I'm Nana because his other grandmother was already Grandma to her first grandson. Wasn't sure I'd like that designation but I think I'd love anything the little monster chooses to call me. (Man, three year olds are tough on us old folks, especially when they're all boy!)

My MIL informed us in no uncertain terms, at the birth of our first son, that she "was to be called Mimi and nothing else." I was in the process of getting annoyed about this when my FIL said, "Well, if she's going to be Mimi, I want to be Pee Pee!"
Hard to stay mad after that. |

I'm Mimi to half of them and Grandma to the others because their other grandmother took Mimi. I wanted to be Nana but it didn't appeal. My late husband said he was too young to be called Grandpa but agreed to be called Uncle Grandpa.
