Default Calls to Canada

We are in TV for 2 mos and I need to make calls in the US and in Canada. Rogers here is very expensive. I have used calling cards in the past but don't really want that. I wonder if I should buy a cell phone in TV with a NA plan???
Any advice from Canadians welcome.
Thanks

Default Calls to Canada

Do you have a laptop with you? If so you can call computer to computer using Skype for free. You can also call from your computer to a phone in Canada if you open an account and make a deposit. It is pretty cheap to do this rather than buy a cell phone. It depends on your situation and how many calls you are making... If you need help with this just give me a call at 352-633-5973. Dave from Ontario.

Hey Frannieb, welcome back. I think you're renting in Amelia this year? We use Magic Jack Plus which offers free calling in North America. Easy to use. You can also port it back to Canada when you leave.
