Default Enclosing the Lanai

I would miss the openness of a screened in Lanai if I did not have one. With the triple sliding glass doors, that gives us the Florida room effect, so to enclose the lanai would be just one more room in the house. I for one don't get it. Just sitting here wondering.

I love being outdoors, especially in my garden surrounded by birds and flowers and my enclosed lanai enables me to be outside 12 months a year. In the Summer when the temp is in the 90's I'm outside on the cool lanai which is glass enclosed and I feel comfortable but still have the feeling that I'm surrounded by nature. In the Winter I open the glass panels (floor to ceiling), open the front door and enjoy the cool breeze while surrounded by nature. In the past the lanai which faces south east was too hot in the Summer and sometimes too cold in the Winter; now I get 12 months of pleasure and serenity in my garden without feeling enclosed.

Have to agree - makes it wonderful and feeling like you are outdoors all year long. Can make it comfortable with furniture, tv, and an area rug without having to worry about anything getting wet. We literally live in our enclosed lanai and it is only 12x15. Before we furnished it we sat in the great room, but it always felt like you were inside - at least with an enclosed lanai you can live comfortably and feel like you are outdoors.
But, to each his own!
