Does anyone know what time the actual parade is? The polo fields are open from 10 to 1pm and just didn't want to be there that long! Thanks for your reply's!

It was a nice parade with lots and lots of people in attendance, and lots of people, giving their time and effort, in the parade. Probably the most I have ever seen in one place at TV. There were even two camels and several beautiful horses.

Must have been a mirage (camels and all) because all the parades have been cancelled in TV--?

You need to read the press releases.

I saw a golf cart afterwards totally looking like a sleigh with a big stuffed reindeer on the front. WOW.

Took my grandson. It was great fun. We arrived at 9:30, had a great spot (he got royally spoiled with enough candy canes to decorate a small tree plus other goodies, greetings and stuff). There were cheerleaders, critters (including the aforementioned camels and horses, service dogs, a donkey and a goat being carried), amazingly decorated golf carts. Never heard a single complaint, even from those of us who arrived early (there were enough walkers going around the parade route to keep people entertained while waiting for the actual parade to start).

This was our 1st Christmas parade. We got there early and had great front row seats. Couldn't figure out, though, why the coffee and food was buried in the staging area. They would have sold a lot more of everything if the food area had been up by the front gate. It sure was different from the "up North" parades. They have lots of fire engines, emergency equipment, marching bands, military units, etc. All in all, it was a good time, except for the rude, pushy people wanting to get on the shuttle busses to go home when it was over. Not talking older people either. Lots in the late teens, 20's, etc. Will we be there next year? You betchya. (If the powers to be don't cancel it).

My granddaughter was in the parade! She was being pulled by her daddy in a little red wagon with an umbrella decorated like a Christmas tree on top of the wagon. They were about third in line behind the VCDD's antique fire truck.

The Christmas parade was great. This was our first one.....I loved the decorated golf carts! And the horses doing their formations, too.
We got there about 10:45. It was my mom, my son and myself. We drove because Mom can't walk very far, and I had Patrick in the wheelchair. We parked in handicapped parking and just walked a little ways to a great viewing area....we actually put up our chairs on a cement pad that is used to wash the horses. Perfect area to watch everyone, and we were directly across from a food truck and just down the way from food vendors on each corner of the parade route. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
