The main thing is to keep involved, not only physically but mentally and socially,” .

“You accept the process and adapt to it,” “Don’t fight it.”

Those statements says it all.

i can't disagree with that...as i grew older i grew more emotionally secure with who i wanted to be and have become.

early on i decided that after graduation i would enjoy my entry into the world of a wage earner and self-supporter by saving some and spending some - they would be the years of enjoyment with little responsibility. the next stage entering my 30s/40s would be to get serious about earning, spending and saving - those were the years to establish myself with my chosen career! after that is was all about insuring that i was providing for a secure retirement! i really wanted to be sufficiently well-off so that i could be called eccentric by age 50/55 because i never really did what was expected of me.

i must say that the loosely framed guideposts of my life worked well despite sometimes straying from the path!

Gracie, I heard about this study. That's why I've let go of my size two clothing (ain't never gonna fit in those anymore, and besides, I'm scaling down property for my move to TV). Although I try to exercise regularly, it's more for health and less for my figure (and I'm ok with that). And most of all, I like the confidence I feel professionally whereas I didn't always have that when I was younger. In fact, it's fun to make fun of myself at this age. We just don't take ourselves as seriously, and for me, that brings so much freedom. Thanks for posting this.

No need to be conflicted rubicon. If you want to be a grumpy old man, I'm sure we'll all support you and confirm your grumpyness .....if that's what you want of course!
