Default Who remembers?

Who remembers their mom or dad telling them, as children, where the parents were when "WAR OF THE WORLDS" was being broadcast on radio?

My mom always said she was ironing and that afterwards, when discussing it with other neighbors, who by the way, all lived near Ferry Street in Newark, New Jersey.......they ALL BELIEVED IT.

I guess radio was a bit prehistoric in those days......I wasn't born yet.
I was born right after F.D.R. passed away, at the end of WWII 1945.

My parents weren't big on radio as we didn't have one that I can remember so they probably never listened too the broadcast of "War of the Worlds".

I remember getting our first television and then they were interested in all the popular shows of the day. Milton Berle and The Texaco Star Theater, Show of Shows with Sid Ceasar, Burns and Allen, Groucho Marks in You Bet Your Life, etc......

I was less than a year old when FDR passed away..........

I love the book, "FDR" by Jean Edward Smith that covers his entire life.
