The snow is one thing.
But the wind is going to be 35 mph with gust to 65.
That will peel your face off.
I see the high today in TV is 81 degrees.
I hope to see within 10 degrees of that on my 1st trip there in Feb.

I don't envy you in the midwest with the advent of snow in the forecast.

I do envy you in that you will be in TV and I will be freezing my butt in CT.

We only had about a couple inches of snow, however it was preceeded by about an inch of rain, so some ice under the snow. Add to that 50 mph wind gusts and it has been an unpleasant morning. Our power went out at 6 am, and came back on at 10:30, so I was sitting around in my snowmobile suit. After the power came back, I went out and did a little shoveling and spread out some ice melt. The good thing about this weather? It makes me appreciate TV even more when I get there!

I feel your pain. As a fellow wannabe, I guess we have to deal with the winter for the time being.

What a minute, winter is suppose to start tomorrow when the world ends.

My 82 year old father in eastern Iowa told me he used the snow blower this morning to clear off what snow had fallen during the night. He said he would wait until tomorrow to take car of what snow falls today. Do you think I could convince the man to let me get him a snow shoveling service so he wouldn't have to walk behind a snow blower at his age -- heck no!

I thought of your father when they showed the Iowa snowstorm on the news.............I remember those "snow gates" where they'd shut down certain highways in the winter time......Iowa and Nebraska?

Those states are so flat, that I can imagine the blowing snow presents a hazard. Iowa is one of my very favorite states. Just beautiful.

As far as the "snow removal service".........just do it.
They'll show up........he might balk a little bit at first.....
However, you will have "peace of mind"........I would.

Vermont resorts open for skiing. We finally got our snow with more to come on Christmas Day.

The snow will continue until the end of the week.............winter has returned.

It's a "winter wonderland" here today....just in time for Christmas. Just glad those wind gusts are over. Our town had power outages, huge trees down on top of cars, parts of houses flying through the air.....(roof shingles, shutters, decorations, siding, you name it.......it was aireborne).

24 degrees is normal for this time of year.........it's been too warm up until now. Spring will be here before we know it.

Drove from suburban Chicago to Iowa yesterday -- no problem; the roads were fine. But lots of snow on the ground. There won't be a white Christmas for Chicago, but there will be a very white Christmas in eastern Iowa. My sister and her family are driving from Cincinnati to Iowa on Dec. 25. Hoping for good travel weather for them.
